Mr. Xudong Tang is currently an executive committee member and Senior Vice President of Legend Holdings as well as chairman of Legend Star. Mr. Tang joined Lenovo in 1990 and took over management responsibilities at Legend Holdings in 2001. During his tenure he has held roles including VP of corporate planning, general manager of human resources, and president of Legend Management University. Mr. Tang has his law degree from the Central University for Nationalities and an EMBA from Cheung Kong Business School.
Mingyao is a Partner at Legend Star. Since joining Legend Star in 2010, he has invested in dozens of startups, and serves on the Board of Directors of many portfolio companies. One of Mingyao's earliest investments, iDreamSky, listed on NASDAQ in August 2014, providing 100x returns in just three years.
Mingyao has 10+ years experience in startup investing. Previously he served as Marketing Manager at Dacheng Fund Management, SVP at Zero2IPO Group, and Partner at Ninesail Investment Consulting Company.
Mingyao received his MBA from Tsinghua University in 2002, and still serves as an alumni mentor to current students.
Gang joined Legend Holdings in 2004 as investor representative to Legend Capital. During this time, he conducted risk assessments, investments and general management, and developed a keen understanding of startups. Since 2007, he has managed direct investments into healthcare and services, energy efficiency, integrated circuit design etc. Gang initiated the investment team at Legend Star in 2009 and has been integral in determining its investment strategy. Before joining Legend, he wored at the China Civil Aviation bureau and has significant technical and management expertise. He Holds an MBA from Tsignhua University and a bachelors degree in electromagnetic engineering from Xian Technological University.
Wei is a Partner at Legend Star. Wei has participated in early-stage investing since 2003, at CCID Venture Capital (investment arm of the Ministry of Information Industry), CIEi Capital, and the Bouygues Group, before joining Legend Star in 2011. Prior to his investmenting career, Wei founded two companies in the systems integration and online procurement fields.
Wei holds a Master's degree in Policy Management from the University of Cambridge and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China. In 2014 and 2015, he was named to Entrepreneur magazine's "China's 40 Under 40 Top Investors" list.
Nathan invests in early-stage technology companies, focusing on healthcare and the digital transformation of traditional industries. Nathan previously worked as a software engineer at Baidu and Umessage, translated engineering books to Chinese for O'Reily Media, and co-founded a mobile app company. Nathan joined Legend Star in 2012, and holds a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Northeastern University in China.
Tian joined Legend Star in 2012 and invests in early-stage web and mobile startups. Previously he worked as a software engineer at Bloomberg in the United States, and founded a software company in China. Tian received his MBA from Peking University, and his Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University.
Bingjian joined Legend Star in 2013, and invests primarily in the areas of education, overseas companies, Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence. Previously, Bingjian worked at Baidu on the Strategy and Product teams. Bingjian hold a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge.
Saman is a passionate supporter of early- stage startups. He has built three companies in the areas of e-commerce, IP television, and logistics management, and faced the challenges of building, focusing, and scaling a company. Saman is now spearheading Legend Star's investments in Silicon Valley with the goal of providing resources, services, and comprehensive support for entrepreneurs, empowering them to build the next generation of transformative companies.
Saman has spent more than 15 years in China, and has held positions at Honeywell, Verizon, Deloitte Consulting and Microsoft in roles ranging from R&D to operations optimization. He received his Bachelors degree in Control Systems Engineering from the Cooper Union and his MBA from Tsinghua/MIT.
Annie focuses on investments in the Lifestyle sector, and also provides branding support to Legend Star's portfolio companies. Prior to joining Legend Star in 2014, Annie led Marketing at Zero2IPO Group where she was responsible for branding, PR, and external partnerships. Annie has 8+ years experience in Marketing and Communications, and has a wealth of industry resources in the investment community. Annie holds a Bachelors degree in Law from Beijing Forestry University.
Dongdong joined Legend Star in 2014, and focuses on early-stage investments in the areas of mobile web, SaaS, and the digital transformation of traditional industries. He's a two-time entrepreneur, and previously worked at the Dark Horse Club incubator. Dongdong graduated with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science from Beijing University of Technology.
Shulin focuses on early-stage investments in the area of FinTech (Financial Technology). Prior to joining Legend Star in 2015, Shulin worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse's joint venture in Beijing. Shulin participated in a number of landmark deals, ranging from elephant deals for bank giants such as ICBC and the Bank of Communications, to spin-off and M&A deals for insurance companies, with a total transaction volume exceeding RMB 206bn. Shulin graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA (Hons) in Management and Leisure.
Shen Qiang has more than 20 years medical device industry experience. In his earlier career he was also a practicing physician. He joined Legend Star in 2014 and has applied his broad experience working with international medical device companies such as, Medtronic, Boston Scientific China, EV3 and Barrax in Silicon Valley, where he refined his in-depth medical device industry knowledge, and ability to execute deals and grow businesses. In the meantime, his work with multinational company's strategic management and healthcare communities has given him significant insight to help companies access, communicate and help resolve business challenges between companies and regulators. Shen Qiang holds an M.D. degree from Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical School, and an M.B.A. degree with emphasis on finance from the collaboration institution with Shanghai Finance College and Madonna University.
Leo joined Legend Star in 2013 and focuses on investments in the medical field - specifically on biomedicines, molecular diagnosis, gene sequencing, tumor immunity and cell therapy, medical grade sensors and data collection etc. Leo graduated with degrees from Xiamen University's bioengineering program and Tsinghua's School of Economics and Management, and has 13 years of experience in the medical field and 6 years of experience managing healthcare related mergers and acquisitions.
Ruiqi Zhang joined Legend Star by end of Y2012. He focuses on investment around two area: intelligence and healthcare, especially those projects which combine mobile medical innovations with data analytics, big data, robot, artificial intelligence and deep learning etc.
Before his joining, Ruiqi worked for Schneider Electric for 9+ years with experiencing various positions, both in China and aboard. He managed several departments in Schneider groups and led several cases of merge & acquisition for Schneider China.
Ruiqi got his bachelor and master degree of Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University and MBA from Peking University
Gen joined Legend Star in 2013 and invests in early-stage advanced manufacture and technology starups. Previously he worked in Bank of China. Gen received his Master's degree from Tsinghua University.
Xi Lui has 5 years of experience with healthcare and biomedical technology investments at Tomogroup and Rivscapital, and has experience working with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies at stages ranging from a startup to mature enterprises. He previously received his degree in economics management at Nankai University.
